Just after my third pregnancy, when my third eldest son was about 5 months old, I happened to be under a lot of stress. My husband had lost his job amongst other problems. I think the stress was just to much for me to cope with at the time.
Psoriasis Diagnosis
My first encounter with "psoriasis" actually was my last as well because I was so horrified by the skin lesions that had at first started out as a tiny pimple like rash but each lesion grew almost like a ringworm. I think what drove me whack to find a psoriasis cure was that each day around 4-5 in the afternoon I would begin itching like crazy, scratching at my skin only seemed to worsen the itchiness and I knew something drastic had to be done. I began doing research on how to treat psoriasis, what presented as psoriasis symptoms, and what caused psoriasis.
According to my research into this so called auto immune disease, what frightened me was that psoriasis could not be cured. When I read that it was a lifelong disease, I felt devastated.
The skin lesions had covered my entire body except my face, neck, back , feet, and private areas. I was completely covered in psoriasis, about 90 percent of my body had it and yes, even the dreadful, scalp psoriasis.
Eating Raw And Becoming Alkaline.
Being married to my organic boyfriend, had me doing studies into how to heal naturally and of course I knew that this had to be treated from the inside first, however like I said after my psoriasis healed, unlike they say, it's a lifelong health deficit, mine has NEVER returned which brings me to the conclusion that either I was wrongly diagnosed or that at the time my body and immune system had some sort of allergic reaction to something I had consumed or been in contact with, as even as I write this article, seven years later, my psoriasis has never been triggered again.
The purpose that I decided to blog about how to treat psoriasis naturally is because I believe that the human body was designed to self heal and the amazing part of my story is that I've still been under a lot of stress these years, my stress has definitely not decreased what with having been unemployed for several years, separated from my husband and now having four sons instead of just three at that time, which makes me wonder if I really do have psoriasis, howcome, my psoriasis has been dormant all this time?
Psoriasis Diet
To answer that question I would have to say it's because I made a mission of never just eating the same as I did before my psoriasis diagnosis. All these years I've come to take naturally alternative remedies, make my body alkaline, and try to somehow contain my stress levels. Perhaps I got used to eating a "psoriasis diet"
If you would like to know how to treat psoriasis naturally I think you too can ease the psoriasis symptoms, control the itchiness and best of all, heal the skin lesions and get rid of that awful scalp psoriasis. By the way my psoriasis tell tale scars are so faded you really have to squint closely to notice them! And I'm happy to share with you how you too can benefit from a psoriasis diet, which is basically just an overall alkaline diet.
To prepare yourself to begin your psoriasis diet, you will of course need to understand something. The same thing I realized all those years back. YOU have to change, what made me treat psoriasis naturally and beat it for good is that I was determined to beat it and that's exactly what I did, even if I have the psoriasis gene dormant in my body, mine simply does not return because I embraced the idea to change my lifestyle and after I did even though I now sometimes eat fried chicken, chocolate, crisps and other candy, I happen to maintain my body in an equilibrium of alkalinity. The alkaline diet is basically what will treat your psoriasis and hopefully like me, you will never suffer the psoriasis symptoms again.
Okay getting back to "how to treat psoriasis" I want to ask you something...
Phototherapy Treatment = Exposure To The Sun (Natural Alternative)
When last have you been in the sun? Did you know that you should spend at least 15 minutes in the sun per day for your body to receive adequate sunshine, enough sun that your body can convert it into vitamin D? Vitamin D is very much healing in terms of psoriasis so why pay for it when sunshine is free of charge?
When I healed my psoriasis I discovered that stress had affected my immunity especially that I had stayed indoors for weeks at a time on end. Psoriasis needs plenty of sunlight as another method of healing psoriasis naturally is phototherapy, you know the same way plants derive food from sunlight, adequate exposure to sunlight is essential in healing psoriasis. If you want to be healed of this illness you should be spending at least 30-40 minutes in the sun everyday. Of course do not expose your skin to the heat in the middle of summer heat you would wait until the afternoon to get your skin soaking in natural phototherapy of the sun's light for healing psoriasis, but you simply cannot get away from the sacrifice of consuming a psoriasis diet. Psoriasis will refuse to heal, the scalp psoriasis lesions will never get cured unless you take charge and embrace an holistic alkaline diet, and I mean, I wanted to heal fast, I really hated the itchiness caused by psoriasis not to mention that I felt like a freak with leprosy.
I remember one time I sat on a taxi and I saw how the other passengers looked nervously at me as if I would infect their kids, but people are so naive. Psoriasis is not contagious!!! Which is why I always wanted to blog about my healing, I have a soft spot for those whom are suffering like I once did, the point I'm trying to make is if you really desire healing from psoriasis and the symptoms of psoriasis, you have to take on a raw diet, to get alkaline.
Raw Diet Detoxing
Without an alkaline diet, you simply keep the sickness, for me, once I changed my diet to a raw diet, an alkaline diet, I noticed how the skin lesions of the psoriasis were beginning to change its appearance. First a red ring appeared around each lesion and it became raised just the wall of the lesions... until I noticed they had begun shrinking, getting smaller and smaller until the ring disappeared, and the skin became it's natural color. I knew that the healing was triggered by the psoriasis diet. I became obsessed with eating raw. If I remember correctly I ate at least two salads a day. Limited the amount of caffeine I consumed, and began substituting coffee and caffeine tea for rooibos which is in fact a herb. I drank rooibos religiously, thwarted the use of sugar and also took at least one teaspoon of baking soda to one liter water everyday. So all of those combined with at least 30 minutes of direct exposure to sunlight for vitamin d. I supplemented with a natural form of procydin and with the sacrifice of eating the raw diet I was healed. I've never had psoriasis triggered again, just once I got a bit of rash on my stomach area, but I refused to take ownership of it, and have been healed ever since.
Post Psoriasis
I don't do much exercise besides daily chores and helping out.
I smoke cigarettes and sometimes puff on my vape pen.
I sometimes eat junk foods and snack on chocolate and other yummy preservative rich foods but I never get psoriasis, possibly because I make use of positive affirmations, prayer and faith in my belief, why I'm telling you this is that you should know it's also a matter of mind, body, spirit. Sometimes I spoil myself and over indulge in desserts and sweet nothings that contain little in terms of nutrients but I always keep in mind to stay alkaline which is why I limit the occasions of eating junk foods and processed foods. Also at least thrice a week I take a tsp of baking soda to stay alkaline, and every few months I will raw fast or do a liver cleanse. I'm just an ordinary person, if I could heal naturally, so can you!
•Mind •Body •Spirit
Ever heard the phrase it's all in the mind, well it is true to some extent. If you accept that you are sick, that you will be...As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. Speak life over and into your mind, body and spirit. Forgive, love others and yourself, get a pet, take up a new hobby, make new friends, but get outside into the sunshine and embrace your healing. Positivity in all its forms is the key if you want to know how to treat psoriasis naturally, say positive affirmations such as, "I am healed, I am blessed, I am whole"
Inside Then Out
Now that you understand that you have to change your lifestyle and eat good wholesome foods, that's the natural how to treat psoriasis, first cleanse the digestive system, next you will have to start taking care of your skin, the skin must be exfoliated.
Make bath salts of 1/3 coarse salt, 1/3 baking soda, 1/3 Epsom salts, take all salts and add to it 250 ml fresh lemon juice. Mix together and let it dry in a plastic plate or clean chopping board, you may add herbs such as lavender and myrrh. Add 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp cayenne pepper and some essential oil, peppermint oil would be a nice refreshing fragrance that can help to soothe you while in the bath. Mix together and after it has dried place in a sealable glass jar and add a label to it. The cayenne pepper will help with the inflammation, cinnamon is a natural anti microbial, so will sanitize and soften your skin. The epsom salts, baking soda and coarse salt work in harmony that when added to hot water, as you relax in the bath, when the water becomes cool, much toxins is excreted from the skin.
Go Natural
Try and expose most of the affected areas of your skin to sunlight after you have bathed. Don't use store bought lotions and creams only a natural aqueous lotion. Drinking loads of rooibos will help the skin heal faster because it is packed full of antioxidants. Take a good supplement of magnesium and vitamin b to help your body cope with stress. Play music that is soothing and stay away from people who are overly negative, and opt to be around individuals with an optimistic outlook on life. Try and see beauty in every little thing and before you know it you will see the transformation.
